What about safety?
You may be surprised to learn that the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) has recently released international figures which prove that diving is safer than football, baseball, basketball, badminton and, believe it or not, swimming.
“It’s very expensive, isn’t it?” is another echoed lament.
Prices for dive courses are pretty much the same worldwide. So yes, it is not the very cheapest recreation, but when was the last time you experienced weightlessness in a “real” fantasyland, as far removed from the world’s problems as is humanly possible?
You don’t have to start by signing up for a full course. Our professional dive operators will start you out with an introduction to the diving equipment in the safe haven of your hotel pool. To explore a little further, you may book the “Discover Scuba Diving” course. From there you will go straight into the crystal blue waters of the Indian Ocean to encounter its undersea life.
“But I’m not a good swimmer!” many will say.
Well, even if so, have no fear. The fact is that you don’t need to be a particularly good swimmer if you wish to dive. While breast stroking on the surface of the water might compare to jogging on land, scuba diving is more akin to taking a leisurely stroll and stopping occasionally to study something interesting on the way.
